Our Cosmetic Bio-glitter®, is Bio-degradable glitter, made from certified compostable film. The material is derived from the fibers of eucalyptus trees, one of the fastest growing trees known.
No animal testing has been used in the development or production and is suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.
Bio-glitter® can be used in a wide range of cosmetic applications; dry, water-based, alcohol-based and oil-based.
The heavy metal content is very low and fully complies with cosmetic requirements. It has the added benefit of being antimony free, and with no Paraben, Phthalates or Phosphonates contained in Bio-glitter
Cosmetic Bio-glitter® incorporates specially selected ingredients and pigments that meet the requirements of EC Regulation 1223/2009 and FDA Title 21 CFR Regulations for applications in the cosmetic industry. Enabling Bio-glitter® to comply with cosmetic regulations around the world.
Bio-glitter® is precision cut and highly reflective making it indistinguishable from cosmetic polyester glitter and is 30-40% softer than polyester glitter.
Bio Glitter will not dissolve in water, micro-organisms are needed to digest Bio-glitter®. Heat, water and oxygen are required for effective biodegradation by microorganisms. Bio-glitter® is metabolised by micro-organisms which transforms it into carbon dioxide, water and biomass.
The biodegradable film used in Cosmetic Bio-glitter® biodegrades in sea water in accordance with the standard ASTM D7081-05.
Our Bio-glitter is also suitable for anaerobic digestion, therefore if a marine animal consumes it, the glitter will break down in the process of digestion.
We recommend using glitter fix gel or a safe multi purpose balm.
As with most cosmetics putting anything near the eyes can result in eye irritation.
Patch test should always be carried out for skin use.
